Regulus lives AU where he goes into hiding but when he finds out James and Lily are killed he takes baby Harry from Petunia's doorstep and takes him to another country, all the while fighting in secret to get Sirius a trial and being thwarted by Dumbledore for years. He raises Harry, having him know how his parents were, and what amazing people they are. Regulus tutors him, gives him anything the small child (who looks so much like James it physically hurts sometimes) asks for, and ensures he knows everything he could possibly teach the boy. He finds Remus, and the two guide Harry to be the most brilliant little boy anyone could ask for. Harry goes to Beauxbatons and doesn't have evil dark lords trying to murder him, the Wizarding World think Harry Potter is dead, and until he's old enough and ready Harry doesn't have to worry about dark lords or anything of the sort.
