Vent; incompetent doctors
I hate it so much I want to go to a doctor but they don't know basic anatomy. I have foot pain. I am an athlete. I sit at home and study anatomy on the internet and in books to understand what is causing me pain and how to help it. Because not moving and waiting for 3 weeks isnt an option (those are the usual recommendations I got, combined with PECH rule). I intuitively thought I want to go to a doctor/orthopedic and ask them what muscles and structures are there, what is happening if I do this movement and so on and so forth and I told my dad and he went like he probably won't now. And he is right. I now that from experience. And it frustrates me so much. It doesn't make sense. It's their profession. I don't know if those are my autistic traits showing but I'm sitting here crying because of the confusion and grief this causes, the mismatch of how things are supposed to be, how we are taught that things are. Doctors know these things. Right? Wrong.
And it's nothing like a chronic illness with little research done on it or something like that; its just some overuse, caused by hypermobility, muscle dybalances, foot shape and sport specific straining of the muscles. I want to ask a specialist for help and for confirmation that my reseach results are correct, ideally for some guidance. Normal doctors/orthopedics should be able to navigte these ordinary things with ease. Until I can speak with a specialist, months will go by and either I was able to resolve the issue or it will have gotten much worse.
