Just for the record
Bacon-flavored popcorn tastes exactly like bacon and popcorn, but a little more like popcorn.
And it smells like burnt bacon and popcorn.
A Few Tips for Relocating Families
At Dimon & Bacorn Inc., we provide a wide range of moving, relocation, shipping, and storage solutions. Moving is an inherently disruptive process, but there are several ways to minimize the stress in your life during a move.
If the move involves children, you should engage them well beforehand and talk about the effect the move will have on their lives. Explain about how schools, friends, and surroundings will change. At the same time, stress that the fundamentals will not change; they will still have their old familiar household and the same daily routines. If possible, take your children to visit the new neighborhood, acclimating them little by little. Leave the packing of the children’s most familiar items, such as blankets, stuffed animals, and books, until the last possible moment.
Most importantly, keep an open and honest line of communication with your children. It is much better to have any concerns out in the open than to keep them bottled up and hidden. We are glad to provide relocating families with our complimentary brochure, A Moving Experience, which offers further tips.
Another common relocation concern is whether plants or pets can be moved or transported by the moving company. To a limited extent, plants can be moved, but only if the move is under 150 miles and within a 24-hour time period. Any crossing of state lines may involve quarantine of plants, even if the move is a short distance. Animals cannot be shipped in moving vans per federal regulations; however, our partner, North American Van Lines, can often arrange safe pet transportation options. Naturally, if there is any possible way to transport pets in your own vehicle, you should do so; they will feel more secure accompanying you to the new location.
When preparing moving boxes, be sure not to pack any flammable or combustible items. They cannot be shipped safely in moving vans, and their transportation is illegal, as well. For more tips on preparing a successful move, visit Dimon & Bacorn online at www.dimonandbacorn.com.
