Hardwood smoked bacon, free-range sunny side egg, American sliced cheddar and chipotle ketchup in brioche. It’s a showstopper, in looks and in taste. It’s also bigger than it looks and that’s partly to do with the thick brioche bread but also because they don’t hold back on the fillings. 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍔 I had been wanting to try @le.swine for many many years but it never worked out for me due to work, location, etc, but I finally had my shot! I got to try out their relaunched Bacon Butty Box. They’ve gone through a rebranding, a really cool 1960s look, the packaging looks great and I love the book that comes with it. Everything in the box has remained the same though, and the box says Britain’s best bacon butty. Well, is it? I think it very well could be! The bacon is amazing, the pure size and thickness of it shows you that you’re getting a premium product. They use a small family run butchers in Lancashire, 100% British and outdoor reared pork, which you then sprinkle with chopped sage. You have bacon butter which spreads perfectly on a milk and caramelised onion bun. Then lastly the homemade sauces; mushroom ketchup and chipotle ketchup. I honestly can’t pick a favourite. The chipotle was warm and tingling, and the mushroom has this smoothness and creaminess to it. I added an egg with mine. I was going to go for Clarence Court but I totally forgot to go out and get them, so a supermarket egg had to do for me. It didn’t matter though, the bacon was still the star of the show. Or was it the sauces? Or the bacon butter? 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍔 If I could have @eggslutuk every day, I would, seriously. The good news is that I actually could, as they have stayed open at both locations for delivery and collection! EggSlut are on @deliveroo from their Portobello and Fitzrovia locations so all of your breakfast needs can go unaffected. I’ve spoken a lot about how much I love EggSlut, and it has a lot to do with top quality ingredients, such as @breadaheadbakery buns and @clarence_court eggs. 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🥓 On the weekend I went down to @breadaheadbakery in Wembley to have a lil tour of their bakery and check out the amazing cafe/restaurant that I had no idea existed. Bread Ahead are very famous for their baked goods, especially donuts, and they bake buns for some of your favourite burger restaurants, noticeably one of my favourites @eggslutuk. The cafe is a massive open space next to BoxPark which serves everything from their trademark donuts and other cakes, then onto breakfast and brunch dishes, such as bacon sandwiches, French toast, eggs Royale, and then have an offering of burgers, and also a full size pizza oven where they make fantastic looking Neapolitan pizzas. There’s also a full bar, so this is literally a place where you could go and spend all day and have all your courses, from morning until evening. They also do bakery lessons which you can book online, and have also recently launched their online zoom courses too.
