There were giants that were your town's Gods. But over time, the humans and the giants learned to co-exist. The giants lived higher, on hills and some in clouds, while the humans stayed lower on the ground.
Sometimes the giants bothered the humans, sometimes the humans went 'hunting' for giants for fun, they were difficult times. Soon enough, the giants had enough.
Giants became the rulers of the humans, some still living peacefully above humans, but the rest were treated like royals by anyone. Didn't matter who or what you were, you listened to the royal giants.
------------------
It was an unlucky day for you. You were just on a walk, when a voice cut through the air. "You, human. Come here." You were about to yell at whoever was talking to you like that, when you turned and saw the king.
You instantly ran over, hearing the rumors of those who disappear when disobeying the king, and bowed before him. He was 9ft tall and you... You were 5'1. When bowing, you heard him snicker.
"Where are your parents, child?" He asked.
You didn't look up, not being able to stand unless he dismissed you. You weren't sure how to answer, you wanted to say you were an adult, but that wasn't the question. "They are retired, your majesty."
He scoffed at that, you felt him step closer to you, towering above you. "How old are you?"
When you told him your age, he laughed. Loudly. Enough to make you almost lose balance. "Impossible. You are tiny enough to be a child."
You wanted to argue and defend yourself, but the words died in your throat.
"Come, child, follow me." He said and began walking towards the palace, leaving you to run behind him.
The palace was meant for people twice your size, you could barely reach the door handle. The king kept glancing back at you to make sure you followed, and you did. You followed up the path, through the door, and down the hall, until he reached a set of doors that you could also barely reach the door knobs.
He opened it and placed a large hand on your back, leading you inside and holding you in place. Another giant was lounging on a chair with a book, you recoginzed her as the queen.
"Honey," The king said behind you, calling for her. She looked up from her book and saw you standing beside the king with a confused expression.
"...Why have you brought a child?" She asked, turning her gaze back to her husband.
"The child was running by themselves, I wanted to discuss something with you."
The queen eyes flickered to you. "Here?"
"Here." He repeated. "What if we keep the child?"
You froze, fighting the urge to argue again. He seemed to sense your growing unease and confusion and all your emotions, his hand moving to rub your back comfortingly. It didn't help much.
The queen looked just as confused as you. "Excuse me?"
The king nodded. "The child should stay here, they're clearly uncapable of living by their self." He gestured to your tired eyes and ratty clothing.
The queen nodded slowly, her eyes scanning you up and down. "That appears to be true." She agrees which makes you feel even more trapped and confused. "What is your name, little one?"
You stiffened which made the king beside you step closer to you. "...It's Y/N."
"Y/N... That's a beautiful name." She says softly, approaching you. She grabs your chin and inspects your face. You had sulken eyes, pale skin, and your hair was a mess. She frowned at the sight, sharing a glance with her husband that reminded you of a mother and father trying to talk over their kid's shoulder.
The king didn't stop rubbing your back when he turned towards the hall. "Draw a bath for the child, a human. Prepare a room and meal as well."
You heard guards and maids shuffling outside where you couldn't see from the king's towering struture.
The queen moved to the other side of you, leaning down to be less intimidating. "I'm sure this is all very new to you, sweetie, but don't worry. You're safe now." She say gently, patting your head like a toddler.
You just stared at her.
--------------------
After being forced to take a bath by the king and queen, you were now being ushered to a table full of so many different types of food you could barely see it all.
The queen kept hovering over you, seeming upset when you fed yourself and making a big deal of wiping your face every time you took a bite.
The king looked amused at his wife's behavior but didn't say anything, however, he did watch you closely, his eyes softening once or twice.
Once you finished dinner, you just kinda... Stood there. You weren't happy with the situation, you were just trying to go on a walk and now you were dragged here, but it was also... Nice. But you couldn't say anything freely.
The king approached you, watching you curiously, before he crouched to one knee, staring at you closely. You stiffened under his gaze, mainly from how intense his stare was, but you were pretty sure he didn't plan on hurting you.
"You... Have free speech here, child." He said suddenly, making you jolt from your thoughts. "I have seen your face, I sense you have your own thoughts." He paused thoughtfully. "Share them."
You stared at him, sensing a trap but he smiled at you, which somehow meant free-for-all to your mouth. Or maybe it had gotten irratated at how long you held your tongue.
"I'm not a child, I'm perfectly fine on my own, and I don't like being treated like a baby!" You said quickly but not rudely, just tired.
He laughed again and placed his hand on your head, his palm covered most of you head. "You may not see yourself as a child, but you are pocket-sized to giants."
You frowned. "I'm not a baby, though."
"Maybe not to humans, but you are very, very, very young." He said matter-of-factly. Before you could respond, he stood up, towering over you again. "Come now, it is late."
It was 8:30.
But, it was still the king.
So you followed him anyway.
---------------------
He led you to a guest room. It was plain but cozy. The bed was clearly meant for a giant but it meant you had a lot of room and so many blankets...
He let you climb into bed and pile blankets over yourself until you looked like a burrito and his face morphed into adoration at the sight.
You thought he would leave at that, but instead, he walked past the bed and began scanning the bookshelf in the room. "What story would you want? Fairy tales? Or do you prefer more realstic stories?"
You blinked at him. "...What?"
"What story do you want read to you, child?" He repeated, turning to stare at your seriously. You were shocked into silence before sheepishly going. "...Fairy tales sound nice."
He smiled at you and took a big book of fairy tales off the shelf and sat beside you in a plush chair. He put on reading glasses (which you thought made him look funny) and began reading the story. "Once upon a time..."
His voice was soothing, his words making your mind fill of stories of elves and giants and magic while your eyes closed and body relaxed.
You fell asleep rather quickly, the last thing you remember was a gentle kiss placed upon your forehead and the king's voice whispering. "Sweet dreams, my child."
-------------------
When you woke up, the smell of breakfast hit you immediately.
The smokey aroma of bacon and pancakes made you basically float down the tall stairs. You expected to see human servants or maybe other giant staff members, but you were surprised to see the queen making breakfast.
She seemed to sense you coming in and turned to smile at you. You approached more with her calm expression but you could barely see over the stove.
She patted your head with one hand and used the other to expertly flip a pancake. You didn't mind the small display of affection, she seemed like the mothering type anyway.
You watched her make pancakes as best as you could, having to go on your tippy-toes to see above the stove, she laughed and scouped you up into her arms.
You were so surprised that you forgot to flinch, she took it as you being happy and made a cooing noise while still making pancakes.
Even though the situation was... Strange, you still found yourself not minding it at all. It was actually kind of nice. She held you on her hip, bouncing you lightly and smiling brightly at you. She even kissed your cheek once or twice lovingly.
"You're perfect." She sighed happily, you just smiled back awkardly.
-------------------
You finally got the nerve to speak up about your thoughts at breakfast. The queen was eating beside you and the king was eating across from you.
"Hey, so..." You start, gathering their attention.
"Hm? What is, sweetie?" The queen asked, looking over at you worriedly.
With the words of the king about free speech, you took a breath. "Can I leave, soon?"
The king paused, fork half-way to his mouth. The queen made a tutting noise, but it was the king who spoke first. "Why would you want to leave? What is wrong? Let me fix it." He said simply, lowering his fork.
"What? Oh, no!" You quickly say. "I'm not unhappy or anything-"
"Then why should you leave?" He seemed geninuely confused and upset at the thought of you leaving.
"I just... I have a life, friends, family, a job!"
He stared at you for a moment before going back to eating.
"No."
He kept eating, even when you looked shocked. "But-!"
"I said no, Y/N." He sounded exasperated. The queen finally couldn't take it and began patting your head again. "Why would you ever leave? We have everything you could ever need!"
You suddenly didn't feel as happy as you used to...
-----------------
Despite your protests and whining and fighting and everything, you were actually enjoying yourself. You were still asking to go back to your house during the day, but the queen would just sigh like you were a child asking for cookies and the king would try to distract you.
However, you did manage to coax their real names out of them. You learned the king's name was Alastair and the queen's name was Elizabeth.
It was later at night, Elizabeth was messing with your hair with a happy hum when Alastair popped in. He opened his mouth, but first took the time to admire the scene in front of him. "Bed time." He grunted stifly, like he also didn't want you to go to bed.
You glanced at the clock, 8:30. "Are you sure?" You said confusedly. "It's pretty early-"
He suddenly picked you up under your arm pits and craddled you on his hip like Elizabeth did earlier. "Yup, bed time." He repeated, begining to move. "Should've put you to bed earlier anyway."
You were very confused at the sudden movement, but this time, you were able to fight it. You squirmed, a bit uncomfortable, but he just bounced you like a fussy child.
"Now, now, don't squirm." He chided. "You're much too small to make it allllll the way to your bed." He told you condesendingly, emphaizing how long it'd take you to get to bed.
He tucked you in and kissed your forehead, but when he was about to leave, you surprised yourself. "Wait,"
He paused, turned back slightly. You suddenly felt embarrassed. "...Can you read me another bed time story...?"
His eyes instantly softened, he came back and picked up the fairy tale book again. "Of course, angel. Anything you want." He said fondly, sitting in the same chair.
You relaxed and quickly fell asleep at the sound of his soothing voice, your mind drifting off more peaceful then ever before.
Elizabeth popped her head in when you were fully asleep, she smiled and kissed your forehead before moving to stand next to Alastair. "How did we get so lucky?" She whispered, careful not to wake you.
Alastair began softly running his hand through your hair. "Our little angel..."
You slept on peacefully in the royal giants' bed, unaware of the two giants watching over you lovingly, they already took you in as their own. You just didn't know it yet.
Or, maybe you did.

𝟏𝓀 𝓌ℴ𝓇𝒹𝓈
after relentless days of begging your husband, michael, to cancel off his schedule just to have a dinner date with you, the day finally came. you dressed nicely in a simple red dress with a slit at the thigh, your neck laced with diamond necklaces.
he looked beautiful.
the raindrops flickered onto the glassboards, the tapping noises softly sounding in the dim lighted restaurant, the sound of cutleries and wine clinking in the background noise. the restaurant lingered a small, faint smell of red wine and oakwood.
"what are you having?" you asked michael, as his eyes were still focused on the menu. "hm? still checking," he replied flatly, barely looking up. your smile tightened, as you didnt want to make a scene after you both finally get a date night out.
after placing your orders, michael barely talked to you, and only stared out the window. every question you asked, you only recieved 2 to 3 words. it was like, he preferred his work over you, his wife. "is.. is something bothering you, baby? whats wrong?" you finally asked.
"its just.. i was supposed to attend an important meeting now," he sighed, rubbing his forehead with his fist. your mask immediately fell, after realising what he meant. the meeting was more important than me? you thought. tears filled your eyes as you asked shakily, "so, you would prefer to attend a meeting rather than being with your own wife?"
his hand drifted to yours quickly. "no, babe, thats not what i mean-" "theres no need to explain, michael. just, just go attend that meeting for all i care." your voice dropped an octave lower, taking your purse and storming out the restaurant, the sound of your heels clacking on the woodboards.
his arms didnt move, as he looked at your retrieving figure.
you went back home and cooked yourself a pack of chicken flavoured instant noodles, as you sobbed yourself to "its a wonderful life". you went to bed at 11:19p.m, michael still not having returned from wherever he was. your red, puffy eyes hurt everytime you rubbed them, as your mind drifted to the painful reminder that he most likely was at the meeting.
you sobbed yourself to sleep, your back facing the side of his bed, so he wouldnt be able to see you when he came back to sleep.
at 3:24a.m, he finally returned home. he slid off his red jacket, watching his every step, as if every move might depend on his life.
which in this moment might be.
the bedroom door creaked open, the light from the hall spilling into the room, casting a soft yellow glow on your face. by the light, michael could tell you were crying, your eyes red-rimmed, your cheeks stained with wet tears.
your chest sofly heaved up and down, your lips red and slightly open. he slowly walked into the room, staring at you, not knowing what to do next. he finally crouched down, wiping the tears away from your cheek. "...baby?" he quietly whispered.
no response.
he sighed, stripping off his white shirt beneath the jacket to get a shower. he softly kissed your forehead before sliding into bed, his hand placed on your hip.
the next morning, michael was waken up by the cool, empty silk. that was when he remembered what happened the day before. his eyes fluttered open, as he ran his hand through his dark curls. he sighed, you were already out? you barely, never went out without him.
not to say he was the 'controlling, psycho freak' type, you just felt safer with him going out with you.
he smoothened out the wrinkles on his pyjamas, stepping out of the bed. in the bathroom, his mind was still on you, he forgot to turn of the water. "mike, whats up man? why 'dyou look so sad?" quincy asked, seeing the way he spaced out.
"nothing.." he muttered, elbow resting on the table as his hand placed below his chin. "your wife, isnt it?" michael finally looked up. "got you! now, tell me whats wrong." quincy pulled the chair out so he could sit.
after michael explained, he covered his face with his palms, disappointed in himself. "wow, man, you messed up big time this time." quincy said.
"i know,"
"why did you even want to go to a meetin' instead of goin' out with your wife?" quincy asked, genuinely confused.
"i just... i was too focused on work.." he admitted.
"go apologise!"
"i cant!"
"man, you better apologise to her if not ill tell her something embarrassing you did when you were 12-"
"i will! i will!" he finally gave in. "thats my boy," he pat him on the back.
two days passed, and you were still not back. michael was already stressing out, calling your phone, asking your manager, your siblings, but they all said the same thing.
"shes busy."
busy doing what exactly? the truth was, you were at your sisters house, purposely ignoring him. you told yourself that after these two days, you wouldnt talk to him until he apologised.
the moment you walked throught the door and shut it, michael ran to you and pulled you into a tight hug. his grip was so tight that if he let you go, you would go away again. his hand stroked your hair, his head resting on your shoulder.
"baby, where were you?" he muffled into your hair. you didnt move, just allowing him to hug you.
"im sorry, im sorry baby.."
he pulled back and stared at your face. god, you were just as beautiful as the first time you both met. "im really sorry, angel," he cupped your face, giving you a soft kiss on the lips.
"are you really sorry?"
"yes, i swear ill make it up to you."
"good. if not ill shove bubbles down your throat."
he smiled, a genuine one, finally happy you were back.
A/n: GUYSSS I'VE MISSED YALLLL❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭😭 PHEW...ive missed writing about telemachus...I promise won't leave you guys hanging, I have..so...so..so MUCH in store for you guys!
Warnings!: tooth rotting fluff!
~~~~🌀~~~~
The first time Telemachus saw you, he forgot what he was saying mid-sentence.
Which was unfortunate.
Because he’d been speaking to Athena.
“…And if the western trade ships return before the winter storms then perhaps we could—”
Then he saw you crossing the palace courtyard carrying a basket of figs against your hip.
And immediately lost every coherent thought in his body.
Athena slowly turned toward him.
“…Perhaps you could what?”
Telemachus stared helplessly.
You moved beneath the olive trees, sunlight catching against your hair, linen dress fluttering softly around your ankles as servants passed by carrying amphorae and woven fabrics. You were laughing at something another girl had said, bright and warm and effortless.
Telemachus’ heart did something deeply humiliating.
Athena followed his gaze.
Then sighed.
“Oh, for the love of Olympus.”
Telemachus nearly jumped. “What?”
“You stare at her every day.”
“I do not.”
“You just stopped speaking entirely.”
“I was thinking.”
“You walked into a pillar yesterday because she smiled at you.”
Telemachus flushed violently.
“That happened once.”
“It happened twice.”
You, meanwhile, had your own problem.
Because Prince Telemachus was beautiful.
Tragically beautiful.
The kind poets wrote epics about.
His curls always looked windswept from training, his voice was soft despite the strength in him, and whenever he smiled at servants or children, your stomach turned into complete chaos.
And the worst part?
He was painfully sweet.
Not arrogant like the suitors.
Not loud.
Not cruel.
Just… kind.
Which made your life unbearable because every time he looked at you, you forgot how to act like a normal human being.
“Stop staring,” your friend whispered while helping you grind herbs in the palace kitchens.
“I’m not staring.”
“You dropped the thyme into the honey.”
You looked down.
You had, in fact, dropped the thyme into the honey.
Your friend snorted.
“He’s looking this way again.”
Your entire soul left your body.
Telemachus was suffering.
Profoundly.
Because he wanted to speak to you.
Desperately.
But every time he approached, something disastrous happened.
One day he tried offering to help carry your water jar.
He grabbed it too quickly.
Dropped it immediately.
Water exploded across the courtyard stones.
You gasped.
Telemachus stared in horror.
“…I can explain.”
You laughed so suddenly and brightly that he forgot to be embarrassed.
Gods.
Your laugh.
He would drown happily in your laugh.
-
Another time, he attempted to compliment you.
You’d been weaving beside Penelope in the great hall, golden thread slipping elegantly through your fingers while the evening sun warmed the palace columns.
Telemachus walked in rehearsing the sentence in his head.
Your weaving is beautiful.
Simple.
Easy.
Normal.
Instead, what came out was:
“You have very… skilled hands.”
Silence.
Penelope slowly looked up from her loom.
You froze completely.
Telemachus died instantly.
“I meant the weaving,” he croaked.
Penelope bit her lip so hard she physically turned away to hide her laughter.
You stared at Telemachus with wide eyes before smiling shyly into your lap.
“…Thank you, my prince.”
He fled the room immediately.
Penelope laughed for ten minutes.
Things only worsened after that.
Because now everyone knew.
The servants knew.
The guards knew.
Even Argos somehow knew.
Telemachus would enter a room and suddenly people would glance between the two of you with barely-hidden amusement.
Peisistratus (I still don't know how to spell his damn name) was the worst about it.
“You’re in love,” he announced one afternoon during sword practice.
Telemachus nearly dropped his spear.
“I am NOT.”
“You wrote her name into the dirt while daydreaming.”
“That was an accident.”
“You sighed afterward.”
“I hate you.”
But despite the embarrassment…
You and Telemachus kept drifting toward each other naturally.
In hallways.
In courtyards.
At evening feasts.
Like tides pulled by the moon.
You’d speak quietly near the olive trees while servants lit lanterns around the palace.
You’d walk together along Ithaca’s cliffs overlooking the sea.
Sometimes he’d tell you stories about his father.
Sometimes you’d sing softly while he listened like your voice itself was sacred.
And every single moment made him fall harder.
-
One evening changed everything. The palace was quieter than usual.
Penelope had retired early.
The servants moved softly through torchlit halls.
And you sat alone beneath the courtyard olive tree, watching the stars emerge over Ithaca.
Telemachus spotted you from the balcony above.
And immediately forgot where he was going.
Again.
He descended the stone steps slowly, pulse hammering harder with every step toward you.
You looked up when he approached.
And smiled.
That smile always ruined him.
“My prince,” you greeted softly.
“Please stop calling me that,” he blurted immediately.
You blinked.
He flushed. “…When we’re alone.”
Your smile softened.
“…Telemachus, then.”
Gods.
The way you said his name nearly killed him.
He sat beside you beneath the olive branches, shoulders brushing lightly.
Neither of you spoke for a moment.
The sea wind moved gently through the courtyard.
Then—
“You make me nervous,” Telemachus admitted suddenly.
Your eyes widened.
“…I do?”
“Yes.”
He laughed weakly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“You’re beautiful and kind and every time I try speaking to you I sound like I’ve suffered a head injury.”
You burst into startled laughter.
Telemachus smiled helplessly.
“There,” he whispered. “That sound again.”
Your laughter faded into something softer.
“You make me nervous too.”
He blinked.
“…Really?”
“You’re Prince Telemachus.”
“I walked into a wall yesterday because you waved at me.”
You covered your mouth trying not to laugh.
“It wasn’t even a wall,” he continued miserably. “It was a servant carrying fish.”
Now you were laughing so hard tears formed in your eyes.
And Telemachus—
Telemachus thought he would do absolutely anything to hear that sound forever.
The laughter slowly faded.
Your eyes met his.
Closer now.
Much closer.
Telemachus’ breath caught.
“So…” you whispered shyly.
“So…”
Neither moved away.
The air itself felt warm.
Then, very gently—
You reached for his hand.
His fingers trembled instantly against yours.
“You’re blushing,” you murmured.
“You’re holding my hand.”
“You sound surprised.”
“I’ve imagined this for months.”
Your heart nearly exploded.
“Months?”
He looked horrified. “I wasn’t supposed to say that aloud.”
You smiled so beautifully he almost forgot how breathing worked again.
Then softly—
Carefully—
You leaned forward and kissed him.
Telemachus froze completely.
Not because he didn’t want it.
Because he did.
Gods, he did.
But he’d imagined this moment so many times that reality itself felt unreal. Your lips were warm.
Gentle.
Sweet like summer wine.
When you pulled away, he stared at you in complete awe.
“…You kissed me.”
You laughed quietly. “I did.”
“You actually kissed me.”
“Telemachus.”
“I think I might pass out.”
You smiled and kissed him again.
And this time?
His hands finally found your waist.
Softly.
Reverently.
Like touching something holy.
Above you, the olive branches swayed gently beneath the Ithacan stars—
