As some of you know, my native language is Spanish, so I thought I would do only songs in Spanish to help people discover latinam/caribbean/spanish artists 😊💛
M: Mon Laferte y Juanes - Amárrame (this is a cheeky, sexy song 😈)
E: Elsa y Elmar - Culpa, Tengo (a solid indie pop song)
W: Willie Colón y Héctor Lavoe - El Día de Mi Suerte (this is an old song my parents listened to. it traumatized me when I was a kid because the story is so tragic, but if you can’t understand the lyrics it sounds like a great time! 😅😂)
S: Sen Senra - Ya No Te Hago Falta (I really like Sen Senra, he’s a little sad boy who makes bomb songs)
T: Titán - Corazón (you know how in Korea they have a list of songs that are banned during exam periods cause they’re too earworm-y? this song would definitely go on that list)
H: Hasta La Raíz by Natalia Lafourcade (this song is lovely, I tear up every time I sing along to it 🥹)
U: Usted by Luis Miguel (lol this is pretty much only for people who grew up with this, I don’t know how much you can get into Luis Miguel as an adult if you didn’t grow up hearing it at home)
M: Maluma y Sech - Instinto Natural (Maluma is the Usher of Colombia, in that he loves to make songs about how women shouldn’t get mad at him for cheating on them)
B: Bomba Estéreo - Somos Dos (this band is so good. their songs are all bangers but, imo, with always an undercurrent of melancholy? melancholy pop? anyway, they’re fantastic)
R: Reyno - Hasta El Último Día (a break-up song but not so bitter? more about how even though the relationship is over, it was still important)
I: Inmortal by Aventura (great bachata song, truly dumb lyrics haha)
N: Nacha Pop - Lucha de Gigantes (another song that makes me cry, partly because I associate it with the movie I heard it in, Amores Perros 🥲)
G: Karol G - Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido (ok I’m kinda cheating here but guys I spent so much time on this one letter 😅)
