So today was Emmas 4 month shots. There has been so much controversy these days surrounding the vaccination of children. Normal this type of news would be missed by me; not something that I typically would have even thought about. Having your own child obviously changes things! All of a sudden these horror stories that I assumed were written by over - bearing, psychotic mothers now all of a sudden aren't so crazy. We want to do what's best for our children, but who's right at the end of the day? All of this worry can't be coming from NOwhere, there has to be a reason for all of these mothers to refuse to vaccinate their babies. If there is one thing that I have learned as a new mother, it's that there are many strong opinions surrounding all things baby! I decided to go with the general flow and "protect my child" from the risks of Rubella, meningitis, etc. The one thing they don't put a panflet out for is how traumatizing it is to hold your little one while they get jabbed with God knows what! At least her tears were justified!
