Also known as Alien Babarou or Babarulian is a a dark alien, trickster and self proclaimed "Dark Ruler of the Universe" with the powers to shapeshift. He's able to fight with a spear and has other weapons at hand if that's necessary, and he seems to have ice powers sometimes.Alien Babalou made his first appearance in Ultraman Leo where he kidnapped Leo's brother Astra, encasing him in ice (a weakness of Ultras from the Leo constellation) and taking his form to steal the Ultra Key, a device that both maintained the Land of Light's orbit and was capable of destroying an entire planet in a single blast. Leo needed not just the Ultra Brothers for help, but also Ultraman King who revealed Babalou's true face. Leo later found his brother and saved him so they both could have a final fight against Babalou. Another of his appearance was in Mebius's spin-off featuring Hikari, the second Ultra of the series only to then return in the proper series where he gets his revenge on Hikari by taking the form of the Ultra's original form as Hunter Knight Tsurugi and went on an onslaught on Earth. Thankfully so was Mebius there to to stop him and the real Tsurugi came to expose his identity and destroyed the alien. He appeared in the Mega Monster Battle spin-off series as one of the antagonists that controls the opposing monsters. He made a cameo in Ultraman Ginga along with many monsters and aliens cheering on Ginga as he fights Dark Galberos. Not a bad guy here exactly, or he just doesn't like the archenemy of Ginga, Dark Lugiel. Babalou returned in Ultraman X in a breather episode where he's the leader of the intergalactic crime network Dark Star Cluster with its members Kemur Man, Alien Zetton and Dada. He was also a rugby star and when a group of aliens who just wanted to not be evil and live a normal life got threatened because a Samekujira named Jolly came for its master so did Jolly's owner Halky challenge the Dark Star Cluster to a rugby match because their human roommate is also a rugby player.Somehow it seems like Babalou didn't use his shapeshifting power in X. A Babalou named Babaryu appeared in Ultraman Orb where he was hired by Don Nostra of the Planet Invasion Union to impersonate Orb and break the trust between the giant of light and the people of Earth. But after a Telesdon appeared and attacked Babaryu and even though he got his butt kicked by the underground monster so did people still cheer on him because it looked like he was protecting kids (it was just a coincidence).Then the Telesdon retreated and Babaryu took on a human form to escape only to be seen by Jetta of SSP (Something Search People (yes that's the name of the group)) who believing he's Ultraman Orb brought him to the kids he saved and started turning good. Don Nostra being disappointed in Babaryu ordered Jugglus Juggler (the rival of Orb) to execute him, so he summoned Cherubim. Babaryu transformed into his imitation Orb form but got beaten by the monster and his true form revealed. He feared everyone hates him for not being the real Orb, but the kids didn't care as they knew he was still a nice person. The real Orb then came to save him from Cherubim leaving Babaryu to flee and getting low to avoid the Planet Invasion Union, but not before saying his farewell to Jetta. In the Ultraman manga who's anime adaption is coming to Netflix next year (I hope I'm thinking of the right manga here) so did Alien Babalou gather his own legion of doom after the Baltans got defeated.Alien Babalou and Ultraman (c) Tsubaraya Productions This piece was originally uploaded on Patreon a three days earlier.
