Any headcanons on the Horde Trio(Lonnie,Kyle,Rogelio)? I always wanted to learn about them like their experience in the Horde, ambitions and their thoughts on Adora leaving.
OH BOY DO I FEEL SOME KINDA WAY ABOUT THE B-SQUAD
Okay so hereâs the thing that bothers me SO much about them. Because we see in the first few episodes, and in episodes like âNo Princess Left Behindâ and âRememberâ, that the three seem REALLY close to Adora. They have a tight knit unit bond, as far as that can go within the Horde. And while they seem to tolerate Catra, because Adora does, the fact of the matter is that they like her? Like in the portal verse, Kyle literally makes a cake for her out of his weekly rations, and Lonnie is not only shown sparring with Adora--but arguably has an understanding banter/ respect for her.
Not to mention the direct scene in âNo Princess Left Behindâ when Adora says she came to rescue her friends and Lonnieâs response is âWE were your friendsâ and the anger and hurt in her voice is.... FASCINATING?Â
I very much thought that at the end of S4 B-Squad would desert the Horde and show up in Bright Moon the same way Scorpia did to help the Rebellion. The fact that theyâre like... Literally just in a single frame at the end of the show is abhorrent tbh.
Lonnie and Adoraâs relationship I find particularly fascinating, especially because of the role Lonnie takes up in the Horde after Adora leaves. She takes orders from Scorpia, but is often seen to be nudging Scorpia in the right direction anyway. So it strikes me that she and Adora were both on the path to be Force Captainâs in a sense. She strikes me as someone capable of meeting Adora in combat, again, being the one to fight her in the rescue mission, and she seems the most UPSET, besides Catra, that Adora left the Horde. I also really ship Lonnie x Adora LMAO. I donât really care what anyone says, they absolutely had a thing before the series.
As for Kyle, I REALLY wish heâd gotten to be more than the butt of the joke. Even during the episode in S4 when he sacrifices himself to fix the vehicle, the three resort back to their original dynamic, shitting on Kyle for being âsoftâ or a screw up. I would have liked to see him have a moment where he REALLY did come into his own and then the obvious respect that followed.
I think if he HAD joined the Rebellion, I could see him working together with Bow and Entrapta and really flourishing in terms of making significant strides from the sidelines.
And then as for Rogelio, heâs a giant lizard, arguably the size and strength of Scorpia and not only do I wish heâd have actual lines spoken, but that he was a stronger and more dangerous enemy---and then consequently an ally. Lots of âanimalâ-esque people in She-Ra talk and it bothers me that Rogelio doesnât---at least without explanation. He just doesnât.... Cuz characters understanding animal speak is funny I guess.
One of my BIGGEST HOPES before S5 came out actually, was that weâd get a scene where we would see Adora fight side by side with not only her new found family, but her old one too. To show how equally important both sides were in defining her as a charater.
I thought it would be so awesome to see her call out some named attack formation with Bow and Glimmer, that they seamlessly execute before Adora rolls right into another combined group attack with the B-Squad, signifying that they were ALSO once a team.
Anyway, yeah. I hope that answered your question. I love Kyle, Lonnie and Rogelio and wish we had gotten a lot more from them--especially in terms of Adora.
