In B-Daman Rapidfire, we see Gennosuke, Samuru’s father, play a role in the story where he works alongside Takakura in protecting the integrady of B-Daman.

Although Samuru has the same goal, the two don't see eye to eye in some aspects.

I wanted to draw Gennosuke Shigami. Even though he and this character do not interact much in B-Daman Rapidfire, they are both adults who live among B-Daman.

When they do meet, Gennosuke is reminded of the past, and is stuck on who this man reminds him of.

The story follows an unlikely duo who investigate new and ongoing mysteries regarding B-Daman, the B-Crystal, and its history.

This is the promotional poster for the series. However, looking at it years later, it looks very bare. In fact, the poster was made while the story was ongoing.

Although Yuki Washimura is not apart of the main protagonist group, he is the one who unintentionally starts the questioning. Samuru Shigami and Ruby Shikaozoku, a new face, dive in deeper.

Below was another concept for the piece that includes Novu Moru, and this character from a previous piece. Both characters affect our two protagonist. However the idea of having them here was rejected because the finalized version looks much cleaner.

In B-Daman Rapidfire, Samuru returns as one of the main protagonist.
