On this day (June 27) 1989, the B-52s released Cosmic Thing. This was their first release after the death of guitarist and band co-founder Ricky Wilson (brother of co-member Cindy Wilson). Roam and Love Shack would become 2 of their biggest hits. The exclamation “tin roof, rusted” was an ad lib happy accident, and I’m glad they made it a part of the song.
