In hindsight doing two drawings on one page is not a great idea because now I have the world's weirdest CatDog (DogDog?)

Elegance
Redesign of a sparkledog OC I had :D
I love long-snouted dogs and characters with piercings and I think he’s super cool and awesome even if his ref sheet is scuffed and I’m pretty sure I messed up the name for people from Mali (I think it’s supposed to be Malian, not just the name of the country, but I’m admittedly a Very Lazy Bastard and don’t like editing things once I’m done with them. His name is Bowie because he’s some genre of trans and grew up loving David Bowie.
Also he wears a lot of jewelry including grillz (is it only spelled with a z? I’m not 110% sure but I don’t want to be disrespectful either way) but I haven’t decided on a design yet so it’s a mystery. Same with his outfit, I haven’t nailed a style for him yet and I wanna do more research into traditional Tajik and Fulani clothing before I start drawing bc he loves his heritage.
He is naturally blue/purple bc he’s a furry and I do what I want, but the vibrant colors are dye. The stripes on his upper leg are from when he was testing it and he ended up liking the asymmetry. He’s so shape I love him sm.
His hairstyle was heavily inspired by @wolfertinger666’s character Luna :3 (I WILL REMOVE THE @ IF I’M BEING ANNOYING I’M SO SORRY)
Backstory-wise (aka me projecting onto him), he’s from a family that’s very disconnected from their heritage, and he desperately wants to reconnect with it (I’m about 1/8th Blackfoot and grew up in an Incredibly White Household so I have 0 knowledge abt my heritage and bc of that he gets the same treatment But Different). He feels incomplete not knowing anything about where his family came from. And he has body dysmorphia because he wishes he could be round and chubby but azawakhs and afghan hounds are both very skinny dog breeds so he’s stuck being tall and thin.
Azawakhs are dogs native to west Africa btw!! That’s why he’s Malian, since Mali is part of west Africa :3
Not sure what story I’m gonna put him in but for now he’s my silly billy that I can draw to Rage Against the Machine lyrics
