Northlane is a metalcore band from Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. I discovered them last week and for the whole week this band has kept me pumping. This band has given me the energy I need for the week. They aren't as heavy as bands such as Suicide Silence and Bring Me the Horizon but they are quite "hardcore" I would compare their style of metalcore to that of Asking Alexandria.. Their album "Singularity" is really really amazing and I found it a bit different to their previous album "Discovery." In listening to these 2 albums I notice a few differences. The one is that "Discovery" seems to be much heavier than "Singularity" , the newer album. In "Singularity, there are more clean vocals. If you are looking for more of the heavier songs I would recommend "Scarab" or "Aspire" The second one is that, the music in "Singularity" seems to incorporate elements from other genres such as experimental metal, progressive metal and post-metal. The album cover for "Singularity has a very " The Mars Volta" feel to it, very surrealistic and so is the music. I also hear quite a few electronic influences. I have been addicted to the song "Quantum Flux" which I highly recommend.
