Avotcja being interviewed for ¿Donde Esta Mi Gente? a 3 day celebration of Latino Poets and Writers in San Francisco as part of National Poetry Month. Presented by Galería de la Raza's REGEN Artist Fund, this event will be an exciting celebration of the Latino literary voice in the Bay Area. Baruch Porras-Hernandez, the program director and curator is bringing together 22 writers, for 3 shows, Books Inc. --on Market, on April 5ht, Magnet in the Castro on April 12th, and the last show with the largest line up will be at Galería de la Raza on April 19th.
The focus of this project is not just to showcase Bay Area Latino writers, but to foster unity, longevity and professional development for them. The program director, Baruch Porras-Hernandez seeks to not just foster public awareness of Latino writer performers by putting together this show, but to build a foundation for further intercultural and multigenerational dialogue between Latino spoken word artists.
