So we know that A4 will take place in the future. Between 6-8 years actually.

And that’s got me thinking. Spider will be long past 18, obviously. He’s not a kid anymore, he’s not dependent on an adult or guardian. In his mind(he’s self soothing here), he has no need for parents.

I think his mindset would be that now that he’s an adult, if Quaritch were to return from the dead yet again, he wouldn’t try to take back Spider. The novelty of Quaritch having a son would wear off, and he’d just be a feral, blessed human to be studied and then disposed of.

Keep in mind this boy does not have a good grasp on the love between a parent and child. Sure, he sees it happening in front of him, with his friends and other kids with their parents, but towards him, it’s an alien feeling. He doesn’t understand it. So, he’d have the mindset that after he’s done maturing, that responsibility people used to have toward him is done. They don’t need to care for him anymore. He doesn’t need love from an older person anymore. And that sucks, but he doesn’t want to be a weirdo and ask for it.

Also, we have to remember Spider’s history with trying to be part of a family. He knows Quaritch was with a woman before he died. They were obviously together.

Spider knows this song and dance. That means a new wife. A new love. And potentially, a new child.

It’s the McCoskers all over again, distancing themselves after their bio kid was born. It’s Norm, having kids of his own with a Na’vi. It’s the Sullys(he knows deep down he’s not one of them, no matter how hard he tries).

All the roads lead to something he’s been dreading. That the first adult to ever put him first and love him with no hesitance at all, was finally beginning to leave him behind. In a way, Spider is glad he’s dead(Eywa, he’s so selfish).

Spider confides his newfound epiphany to Kiri, Lo’ak, and Tuk. He doesn’t see the solemn knowing looks in their eyes.

Of course, we know Quaritch isnt dead. We know he’s still breathing. We know damn well that Spider not needing parental care doesn’t mean shit to him. Nowhere does he seem to want a new kid. Spider is all he ever needs.

The others know this. They don’t know if it will soothe him or make him panic, so they keep it to themselves.

I guess nobody believes Miles Quaritch is dead. Idk whether Varang saves him or not, but mark my words - she's beating his ass soooo hard after this all is over. I just know she is FURIOUS She's definitely blaming their defeat on him, ain't no way she takes the blame herself, nuh-uh. The man promised her glory, and apart from some D and some guns she's got forced Eywa-therapy and the shame of being overpowered and defeated. She hates that, and I don't know how good Quaritch needs to polish that blue kitty to win her favor back😪 Poor man.
