i keep forgetting that her scar mirrors the shape of the x-ray of the light and also the cracks in both the porthole glass and the seedling pendent AND simon getting crucified in the sm-13 at the end of the movie and wOW THIS MOVIE IS JUST TOO GOOD !!!!!!!! anyway, some rambles about our favorite captain below the cut ↯

When I look at Vic's aggression (directed at the animator and Chosen) it seems to be mostly about control, he's been in a bad situation, now he's better and he wants to have the control that he was denied for so long and I think at least some part of him wants to know what it felt like to be hurting others, did it feel good?

Then when he's against TDL it just feels like revenge, he doesn't bother himself with controlling his enemy nor even controlling himself and his feelings about this whole situation

Now when I look at TCO it seems harder to pin down, I already said that I believe the reason he attacked the animator right after being created was because as The Chosen One he was supposed to fight against evil and his code unconsciously perceived the animator as evil (for what he did to Vic for example), but I think his thought process during the attacks is so much more interesting because what was it about? Doesn't exactly work as revenge because those people never hurt Chosen and he knows it, is it about control? Does he also want to know what it feels like to hurt innocents? But other than that he doesn't seem to care much about his control of others, he wants control over himself, because he wants freedom, so maybe it's again the thing about choice and wanting to gain freedom by making the wrong one

Obviously it's hard to identify age when everyone is a stick figure and have different artstyles. You can't really rely on height or behaviour that much (because adult sticks and child sticks can have very similar personalities)

This age ambiguity creates issues for a ton of reason that I'm not going to get into, but for an easier time I hc that outernet sticks categorise age by creation date/animated context.

Animated context ages are ages informed by the animation the stick comes from. This can be things like behaviour, height, and extent of knowledge, but also it can be context clues such as if they're a parent, if they or have access to drinks, if they have a job, if they have something on them like a label or ID with their intended age on it. Sticks do usually have an idea of their general age range after creation, but that's considered unreliable because that can't be confirmed.

Creation date ages are assumed if there are no context clues to go by. It's essentially that the moment you arrive at the Outernet your age is counted.

Of the two types, even those with context ages use their creation ages. Context ages are mostly used to help clarify things and let the adults sticks be treated like adults. Casually, however, sticks will explain things via creation ages. These have been standardized for the most part.

0-4 years is general childhood ages

5-9 years is teenage years

10-14 years is young adult generally. This is the most common age range

15-19 is middle aged-ish. This is when sticks are treated as "proper adults"

20+ is getting into the elderly range. Now it doesn't mean these sticks are necessarily wrinkled grandparent types, more the equivalent of around 45+ for us. A lot of them are more in their fifties
