This is my contribution to the Borderlands fandom
thinking about ava and fl4k best friends... mr. chew all grown up and badass, play fighting with hermes. fl4k teaching ava how to understand her companion completely, to read his every movement, to fight as one pack. fl4k taking ava out to train her, teaching her about the Hunt and Death, how hunting can be meditative in such a different way to what maya taught her, but is still therapeutic.
they aren't great with words of comfort per se, in the traditional human sense. but they know giving her something to both focus her anger on and redirect it will help pull it out of her. and that learning to fight will help her protect those she loves so she'll never lose anyone again.

My friends spoiled me that Ava does not show up in borderlands 4 and that Amarra has Avas pet now.
I really hope that they are just keeping her safe on the Sanctuary 3 for now or reveal that she has been on some kind of training quest to get stronger.
I don't want them to just go "oh this was shit the players did not like that lets just cut her out and replace her" when they could take the much more interesting route of redeeming her by.....giving her character growth.
Like she is how old? can't be older than 16. That frontal lobe isn't even done cooking yet she has plenty of room to grow.
I found this the other night on Athenas when playing bl3 and I can't get it out of my head- It's hidden off to the side of the crypt area and I fucking-
imagine being Maya, you go to the crypt area to look for something and then you just find this

The new Siren Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4? Vex? That's Ava from Borderlands 3!
Look at them! Vex absolutely looks like a teenage/young adult version of Ava!! And it would make sense, considering Ava (SPOILER) came into her powers at the end of Borderlands 3. Given that there is only six sirens that can exist in the Borderlands universe at any given time, it would also make sense to make a playable siren be one we already know!
Then there is Vex's character description from the official release. It's just pure, emo Ava! Ava had a rough upbringing that was made infinitely more complicated by receiving her siren powers! Ava is a pessimist but with a heart full of love!
I'd love to hear what others think, because I've convinced myself at this point, but my husband who is also a huge borderlands nerd disagrees.
