I have my first autism assessment today after waiting 3ish years. Every mental health professional i’ve ever spoke to agrees i’m autistic but i need to go talk to the fancy people so i can get a membership or whatever. Wish me luck!!!
So, I am diagnosis with autism and adhd. But every so often I question if that is right, or if I just secretly lie in order to get what I want.
For example, when I got my glasses for the longest time I was walking around with a slightly off prescription because I kept telling them I could in fact read all letters on the board even if they were blurry. So when I got my new ones I lied, saying I couldn't read them and then I got the right prescription.
I feel like I did this on my autism test specifically. What did I truly lie about? Well, i don't mind change, sure, I do not like having to do things out of nowhere, but I won't have a full blown meltdown either. Just kind of this feeling of, no, please plan it in. Unless I really like it or am immensely curious about it.
When I got the results they asked me a week before we normally would get the results if I wanted to get the results now I already knew the answer with the way she spoke to me. But I refused to get the results immediately, even though I would not have minded the results right then and there. But I said no because I felt like that would be the right answer to the questing she was asking, so I waited anyway.
Anyway, I feel like the results might have been bad and I am a fraud. 🤷♀️
