The genuine ache that Oscar's 25 F1 season brings me needs to be studied
Like, you guys don't understand, he's got me out here grieving like I personally lost the championship. I can't think about it too much cause it literally makes me want to cry.
In his third season and he's dominating in points, winning left and right for the beginning half of the year, and then suddenly there's like one bump in the road and it's all spiraled. I think between McLaren and the pressure, he just cracked. But also, when people started getting on him for cracking and making mistakes (similar to how they did to Lando), it only got in his head even more cause people were treating him like an alien for doing something wrong for once. Like, not only did he probably feel like he failed himself, but everyone else failed him too for treating him like this amazing thing until he's not, and then stressing him out about it when I can only assume he's trying his literal hardest.
And as a McLaren fan, I know we all like to pull the "they're both treated equally" card, but you can't deny how much McLaren loves Lando. And at the end of the day, there will always be a favored person. I'm definitely not saying that McLaren's "favoritism" caused him to lose the championship, cause the cars aren't any different. I think it was just a mentality thing for him and how the tracks play out. But favoritism will affect you emotionally, and that, on top of everything else, is exactly why I think he started to slip. Cause if your team doesn’t believe you’re the one to win, how could you believe it too?
But it's NORMAL to feel that way. People just don't think it's normal for them cause they're celebrity athletes.
I don't know what causes everyone to be so harsh on Lando and Oscar for how they act outside of racing and what pushes them to do the things they do, but everyone does. I mean, you'll always have groups that are hard on certain drivers, like Max. But watching in real time, everyone gives up on Oscar and also cheers against Lando, which is so depressing.
I guess this just made me realize how much I genuinely see myself in him. The world isn't ready for quiet, calm characters, but I don't care cause they truly keep the world spinning. And I will always fight for him and support him cause like, that's my dawg. Oscar, keep it up, king. You got this, I just know it.
Anyway, I'm done rambling, don't kill me for my opinions. I love Oscar, I love Lando.
I’m not perfect, but on my best days, I really am the best — Oscar Piastri

It is so good to see that quiet confidence becoming a little louder

CLEVER BOY
needs to be said, oscar’s performance in this race is nothing short of brilliant. hasn’t been in a race in 4 months, first time actually racing under these new regs and shows immediate understanding with a stellar start and very clever, present racing. he races like a champion and it’s only a matter of time until he has the title to match his drives. so good to see him back on the rostrum, top step next time. we’re back.
