I've been journaling in Aurebesh (Galactic Basic for the non- Star Wars nerds) because I'm bored and why not. I keep mixing the optional ligatures with the letters. >.<
It's fine. I'll only be confusing myself.
I refuse to do mirrored letters for capitals, though. That's only marginally canon, and just seems dumb to me. I guess I could see it for maaaaybe capitalizing one letter in a name. But seeing "WARNING" in all backwards Aurebesh on that Mandolorian screen was just nonsensical. Obviously things are wrong. Lol
How do letters work in Star Wars? The Aurebesh alphabet is just different symbols for English letters for simplicity, but they have different names. So why are letter ships (X Wings, Y Wings, A Wings, et cetera) called that?
And I’d be fine with just that, if it weren’t for the droids. Each Aurebesh letter has its own name (A is Aurek, B is Besh, et cetera). So WHY do we have R2 Units instead of Resh 2? What about my favorite droid, C1-10P (Chop or Chopper)? Does the Latin alphabet exist in Star Wars? Do they use it in mechanics?
i was ringing a guy up at the register last night and he had aurebesh tattooed on his knuckles. this has opened me up to an entirely new world of tattoo possibilities
Trying to get clout by learning the language in Star Wars, call that Aurabesh farming

I was already considering having my site's largest headings/page titles in Aurebesh AF Legends, but I just now got the idea to have the links to other major pages change from their usual font to AAFL when the user hovers a mouse over them. once again staring down the barrel of learning javascript…

After some revisions and a glaring error in my layout mock up I think I’ve finally decided how it’s gonna be. I forgot I ran a poll about layout and I’m sorry to the one person who voted but I think you’ll agree that this is improved. Oh I also added the hexagon around the First Order logo. Somehow miscounted that three times and STILL ended up graphing the last three lines above the printed grid.
The bottom two lines of Aurebesh are swapped. But they’re literally just laying on top so when I graph it all together in one page it’s easy to fix. I also don’t like how the trooper on the right abruptly ends in this layout. Makes it feel like bad clip art or old school Word Art trick.
I tried to cut the existing helmet at the half point and mirror the image.
Yuck. I had to adjust a lot and I think it looks like a dog nose print. Scrapped that. You can sort of see the next effort at the top left. That turned into
This. The shading is currently meh. But since I can’t draw and I have only ever freehand graphed once before (I put Louise Belcher bunny ears on a bear) I’d say it’s ok. I’ve gotten some positive feedback.
Tomorrow night I have to take some of the ultra fine tip pens with me and transfer the pieces onto one piece of paper. Depending on how high census is and how many PRNs I end up giving it may take tomorrow and Friday. But I don’t know.
