Audrey Rocio Ramirez Disneybound today for the last day of the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration week collaboration with @thedisneybound I just wanted to give a huge, huge thanks to Leslie!!! 💗 Being able to do this week and seeing everyone joining in has meant so, so much to me. I’ve bounded as Audrey before but I thought I’d step it up and also for representation! She’s Puerto Rican and I’m Puerto Rican too! But she is also a great character! She’s smart and breaking gender stereotypes. And Latinx stereotypes in general. Not only is she a mechanic, she’s a gifted teenage mechanic, who is the Chief Mechanic of the expedition. I wish Atlantis got more love because it is a great movie and actually has some diversity. As far as I can tell she’s the first female Latinx that is one of the main protagonists and isn’t an animal (Three Caballeros/ Emperors New Groove) and is actually voiced by a Latina. You don’t know how excited I was to see not only a Latinx character but a strong, female one.
