After so much bad press by the #Dailyfail and the idiots on loose women I want to say this: I am not a 'pack pony' I am a mother and guess what? I WANT to make my children feel safe and happy and if that means they want to be carried instead of being pushed around, sleep with me instead of on their own and have boobies instead of bottles then that's what I'm going to do, children deserve to be children and they need their parents to care for and guide them, not 'kick them into nursery as soon as I can'. #fuckingneigh #iamnotapackpony #attachementparenting #babywearing #toddlerwearing #breastfeeding
That's what I keep telling myself these days. Actually, I can be a good mom, a good spouse, a good blogger, a good crafter and a good friend while still being good to myself. I started running again and I am taking multitasking into a whole new level. I am on the treadmill, I am knitting and I am listening to #attachementparenting videos. So, yeah, the quote of these days is Actually, I CAN! What's yours? #qotd #quotes #words #typography #quoteoftheday #inspire #inspiring #motivation #happiness #quotestoliveby #quotesdaily #quotesoftheday #instaquote #quotestagram #lifequotes #dailyquotes #wordsofwisdom #lifelessons #thoughtoftheday #positivequotes https://www.instagram.com/p/BsnMX9anutd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=11fcpyjdjmg42
Science book for toddlers You know there are many exceptional kids books out there. But there are just a handful it seems of them regarding science. Granted two year olds maybe a little too young to understand everything about science but you'd be surprised by some of the things they do get! In my opinion it's never too early to start reading about science to kids. I am so glad I found these books about Thermodynamics and Aerospace engineering! We read them often and now Natalia can't stop talking about how the birds fly! #books #bookworm #booklover #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #reading #booknerd #igbooks #igreads #booklove #bookstafeatures #bookofthemonth #kids #mombooks #kidsbooks #childrenbooks #science #sciencebooks #thermodynamics #parenting #attachementparenting #apmom #psichogiosbooks
What on earth am I got to do when she stops feeding to sleep?! Tonight it took all of 10 minutes to get her from wide awake to fast asleep tonight! #breastfeeding #normalisebreastfeeding #attachementparenting #normalisenaturaltermbreastfeeding

I put this on facebook to shut down haters!
It takes a lot of courage to be different. It takes a lot of courage to defy social norms. It takes a lot of strength and confidence to be WHO you really want to be. To be the person you should be. This is something that has taken me 31 years to realize. Living in a small minded, conservative town is not easy. I get a lot of stares and judgement especially when I am in certain areas of town:
1. Having red hair (Wait, you actually want your hair red?)
2. Having three children. No matter how well behaved they are I get a ton of rude stares and comments as to the amount of children I have.
3. Having tattoos
4. Being Liberal and accepting of others (wow..ppl judge you for that?)
5. Being overweight
6. Breastfeeding, breastfeeding in public, with a cover, without a cover
7. Co-sleeping
8. Cloth diapering, cloth wiping (Ewwww gross..how could you do that? Like I don't have to use my same hands to use disposables and clean a child. Poop is poop ppl. I just save a LOT of money and planet by using cloth)
9. Being a dork, weird etc.
**Guess what I like being a dork, weird, nerd! I love that I like sailor moon and zombies. That we play bizarre board games and have quirky family traditions. Because guess what being normal is BORING!***** It has taken me 31 years to accept this and come into my own. To stop trying to please the people around me.
With that being said. We were all at Krystal yesterday and a pair of "good ole" boys would not stop staring at my son’s fingernails (being blue). They stared and even came to the table stopped and looked down at his nails and shook their heads. I wanted to fight! I mean they are adults. It hurts because my son didn't have to wait 31 years. We have taught him to like himself and express himself.
My daughter was at the store with her baby Coraline (a doll that is African American) and a lady asked her wouldn't she rather have a blonde blue eyed doll?
Sometimes I feel so torn. Do I stifle their creativity and expression because of what others might do/say/think? Do I become a hypocrite and tell him no? Darien already gets stares because he likes zombies, playing in the kitchen, sometimes with dolls, painting his nails etc.
I sat in the car and fumed and fumed. Then came to the conclusion that hell no I CANNOT and WILL NOT stifle or change him. I will do my best to prepare him for the ignorance of others but encourage and embrace the person HE wants to be. We will not let society determine our characteristics or how we are as a family.
My husband looked at me and said. We are who we are. We don't have to please anyone but ourselves. I like not being normal. I like having tattoos and playing zombie board games. I like being us. And I love our children. I don't care if his nails are blue and he sometimes plays with a doll.
And then my son said, "yeah mama. We are one big creepy family! And its okay because in our family being different is better!" I started to cry actual tears and said, "yes buddy it is!".
So for all of you on my friendlist. If you don't like that I have tattoos, breastfeed, cosleep, allow my children to defy gender norms, support gay rights, am so far to the left I am falling off the board.....then don't stay on my friend's list..because chances are you will see or hear something you won't like..so its better if you peace out right now..because we are an AWESOME, LOVING family who cares about the rights of others and are not afraid to say so!
Truth.
