Watching a new player experience Whispers in the Walls. I think it might actually be my favorite Warframe quest, if I don't count the shock value (not derogatory) of The Second Dream and the sheer iconic-ness and importance of that line in The Sacrifice. And I just realized who Albrecht reminds me of: Atrus from Myst.
Albrecht's intentions weren't as good as Atrus's, but they're similar in their scientific motivation and the tunnel vision they get from it.
They both fucked things up accidentally through having high INT and low WIS.
They both come from peoples with a legacy of imperial colonialism. This is something Atrus chose to actively work against, though, and it didn't take him long to reach that decision.
Listening to them tell their own stories feels alike, somehow. Their voices are kind of similar. Atrus is much less poetic.
Tragic outcomes. Albrecht's is infinitely larger in scale.
Some of the WitW music is so Myst.
...Honestly, I don't know enough characters comparable to either of them, so I'm drawn to compare an apple that looks kinda orange with a red orange.
