Atomic Grill, Paducah, Kentucky
(Ralph Crane. 1952)
So some reviewer on Urban Spoon requested that female servers at the restaurant in Morganstown, West Virginia “show some more skin.”
Owner Daniel McCawley was rightly outraged. “It was brutish. I was upset. I’m a father of a 12-year-old girl and I’ve got five sisters. The way that women are treated is pretty personal as far as I’m concerned.”
So, he decided that if this hideous person wanted more skin, then they'd get more skin. Potato skin, that is!
Over Memorial Day weekend, Atomic Grill is running a $7 special on loaded potato skins - and all the proceeds are going toward the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services.
Proactive feminism and food, folks - what more could you ask for!
