Stupidest thing ive ever done: I was on my way home from a student exchange trip in Asia when I had an 8 hour layover in Beijing Airport. I was really hungry, so I walked around the terminal to see if I could find any food. I kept strictly kosher at the time, and since everything was in Chinese I decided to eat something with a brand name I recognized to make sure I wasn't accidentally eating pork or shrimp. So I got to the convenience store and they didn’t really have anything to eat, but they did have mentos. I figured mentos should be fine.
I was wrong.
The mentos were fruit flavored, which I found odd for a mint but okay. I had five or six before I got on the plane. They went down a little weird but I figured that was just travel stress. I had a couple more once I was on the plane. About two hours into the flight I decided to have another. The guy sitting next to me took a break from sucking his girlfriend’s face long enough to turn to me and point out that these mentos were not mints. They were gum.
I couldn’t eat or take a shit for the next day and a half. To this day that is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.
