Kevin went into foster-to-adopt (on Monday) with Randy and his wife, who live in Northridge, CA (San Fernando Valley). Randy is the awesome transporter who drives cats up here from LA and Orange County shelters. Last word is that Kevin is doing great. Checking out his new digs. And the best part is Kevin will have a playmate about his age that has the same degree of ataxia as he does!

Thank you, Randy, for giving Kevin the opportunity of a new, warm, loving home!

Kaeva is 5 months-old and sponsored by Mark van Slyke. SNAP Cats rescued Kaeva from San Francisco, CA. Kaeva is a very curious, playful kitten. Her current BFF is Inspector. They play together almost nonstop every day. Kaeva’s ataxia is moderate, so she gets around just fine – runs, climbs stairs and anything that looks interesting. Kaeva will definitely need a playmate about her age (like Inspector!) to burn off all of her energy.

Thanks to a generous Operations Grant from @petfinderfoundation, we’re able to purchase three months’ worth of food for Kaeva as she awaits her forever home.

SASSY SASHA!

Sasha’s 1 year 3 months-old and sponsored by Robin Texeira. SNAP Cats rescued Sasha from Solano County, CA. Sasha’s a very sweet, gentle kitten. She loves attention and being held (for a while, then not so much). Sasha’s going to be on the petite side when full-grown, but there’s still a lot of her to love. Sasha gets along great with the other kitties and uses the box 100% of the time.

This cutie is Wobbles (do you even need to ask?). He’s 9 weeks-old and has moderate ataxia and cataracts. Wobbles was found at a Petco in Long Beach, CA. He was brought to the local shelter who contacted us…

Long story short: Neighbor feeding ferals. Not fixing them. Dementia worsens. Sons take her away. All cats, domesticated and feral, abandoned.

Enter Mia. TNR veteran. Sets up feeding stations to contain cats at absent neighbor’s house. Starts trapping and fixing semi-ferals. Notices one CH kitty trying to keep up with the rest. Not doing well. Mia takes her in. Names her Blue.

Abandoned cats start getting adopted by neighbors and guests at a nearby Airbnb. Yay! Blue is overlooked, though, due to, well, CH. Boo! Which sucks because, according to Mia, “she’s really sweet, lovely female kitty, Siamese and Tabby mix, very food motivated, but also easily creates that Oxytocin link!”

Gotta admire the “Oxytocin” note.

Mia can’t continue to foster Blue due to health reasons. Her vet suggested she contact us…

And the rest is history.
