august 21st 2019 — done studying for the afternoon. i think i’ll pick up my notes later tonight and reread everything i’ve studied thus far. so now i’m gonna read on beauty, i’d like to reach page 100 and the tale of two cities and i’d like to reach page 150. i’m not sure it’s doable but i’ll try 😃
The Winter books of @thomasnelson’s Seasons Editions! . #QOTD: What are some of the prettiest books you have or wish you’d have? . These are definitely some of the most gorgeous books I’ve ever seen, and I’m so glad I got them for Christmas! They have sprayed edges, and the covers are laser-cut designs! The dustjacket has a protective sleeve, which I’ll never be taking off because the design is so delicate, I’m sure I’ll break it 😂 I can’t wait for the four summer books to be released in June! . . . #thomasnelson #seasonsedition #prideandprejudice #janeausten #littlewomen #louisamayalcott #ataleoftwocities #charlesdickens #wutheringheights #emilybronte #classics #classicbooks #classicfiction #beautifulbooks #bookstagram #prettybooks #bookcovers https://www.instagram.com/p/B77aIEcgKiy/?igshid=19lwujb951w6q
"It was the best of times, it
was the worst of times, it
was the age of wisdom, it
was the age of foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief, it
was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light, it
was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of hope, it
was the winter of despair…"

Watson’s Hotel, Mumbai, India 🇮🇳
This derelict, dilapidated building used to be one of India’s most celebrated ‘Europeans-only’ hotels in the colonial era. Legend has it, Jamsetji Tata was denied entry here, fueling his vengeance to build a competing hotel, The Taj. No one knows how true this claim is.
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way...”
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way — in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
Had such a fun day viewing “Rooms as Portraits” @michaelsmithinc auction at @christiesinc with @philipmitchelldesign followed by drinks and dinner at my favorite place in New York, Monkey Bar with Philip and @marknarsansky. You can see more beautiful antiques from the auction in my Stories. #christies #michaelssmith #ataleoftwocities (at Christie's) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoAqz6rlZZ6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=6tvkmv2mnw88
