i have thoughts on the whole tadc thing but I'm both not fully informed on all of it and also not really the person to speak on it. but I do think the actual racism of some of the people involved and other serious accusations such as a toxic workplace, things that do deserve actual accountability and are very fair to criticize, are being conflated with other issues in fandom spaces like the tendency for things to initially receive a ton of praise and support only to reach the tipping point where everyone wants to tear them down and find problematic things about them or their creators, or the way fandoms so quickly turn against creators when they don't feel like the creator is doing exactly what they personally want, or the way progressive/queer stories and creators seem to receive higher scrutiny of their actions and stories, or the way people will dig up every past action out of context to find new ammunition against someone they don't like.

all of these things can happen at the same time but are not the same thing. and it's important to remember that.

#not sure if it's worth speaking on this since it's such a mess of an issue but people need to understand how to hold multiple thoughts #at once #i still stand by disliking the way people attacked the creator for taking the story in directions they didn't want. i still think a lot of #people were trying to find reasons to tear the series down. I ALSO think the accusations are valid and deserve accountability #there's a problem online where if one thing is true people treat it as the whole truth #sometimes multiple things can be very true
