I always loved that little guy. Such leader potential. Him as a centurion would be probably the fav of the army. (We see you Somni you are great as well🫶🏻 We just love rebels)

If someone asks me what idols I have: Him

I. I headcanon legionaries secretly cuddling together in their tents when they are scared, especially being in Gaul terretory. They just got so used to each others company, that they are just all like a big family and many of them are just too soft for this endless beating. They're just camping far from home and are very dramatic

II. If they have no blankets, they use their shields. They use their shields for EVERYTHING. It's tactical. You need a table? SHIELD! You need protection from the rain? SHIELD! You have no weapon anymore? SHIELD!

III. They all would like to pet the centurions plume because it looks so fluffy but that's disrespectful and would lead to military punishment. But they all have the desire to just pet-

IV.Most centurions are just big grumpy softies that actually care for their dumb legionaries more than they want to admid. Sometimes screaming at your soldiers means you love them <3

V. The Roman soldiers notice that their mighty equip is totally stupid inside the forest but would never EVER admid that because what Rome does, must be superior! But who tf walks in sandals through a forest with heavy equip. Yeah, only dumb little Roman soldiers <3 Have fun sinking into forest mud ✨

VI. They are terrified of the Gauls to do barbaric things like sacrificing Romans to their gods. There are a lot of scary rumors about the Gauls. They are also scared of the foreign forest noises. Fact is that they are just very uneducated about the "savages" and talk about them as if they are a scary bed time story when in reality our Gauls are very friendly

VII. They drink wine like coffee🍷=☕

VIII. We all know that centurions would like to cuddle their legionaries..right? That's what Mars would do as well-

IX. If we already mention their god of war here- I always wondered what the Roman gods would think about their mortals in the Asterix universe. Like..how does Mars feel about his mortal soldiers failing against a single damn village full of barbarians the whole time?? Does he just..face palms secretly? I think it's funny to imagine the gods all just being goofy bywatchers and Mars just a depressed 'overlord-centurion' that has to watch aaaaall the legions fail against one village. Tho I always liked to imagine that he just loves his mortal army of silly legionaries and can't be mad at such cute mortals for failing over and over again

Searched up the origins of police tactics because they always reminded me of Roman military tactics and well..it is true!!

I just love how modern riot police still uses Roman tactics and similiar protection gear. It's cool actually to know that ancient tactics are still used so often. People back then truly were incredible. If they only knew that they truly made themselves live for eternity-

So we all know that the Indomitable Gauls can whup Roman soldiers with just a sip of magic potion.

However, Caesar's lieutenants ( over the years ) are harder to defeat even with the magic potion combat wise. Like, throw a magic potion charged Geriatrix to any of Caesar's lieutenants over the years ( Lepidus, Mark Anthony, Silanus etc ) and they can STILL put up an impressive fight with magic potion charged Geriatrix

And Caesar is actually the hardest to defeat combat wise out of Caesar and his lieutenants over the years EVEN AFTER THE INDOMITABLE GAULS DRINK MAGIC POTIONS

I mean, Caesar is strong enough to pick up fat Senators by the collar, throw heavy generals across rooms, AND also carry grown men with ONLY ONE ARM

And Cleopatra just watches Caesar being strong while eating grapes and blushing.
