Poetry Study for July
Objective: to better understand mood, tone, and attitude in poems and gain confidence in creating specific mood/tone/attitude in poetry
Week 1: Analyze 10 poems
Week 2: write 2-3 mirror poems. Analyze 2-3 poems
Week 3: Pick a mood, attitude, and tone. Write 10 metaphors reflecting choices
Week 4: write 1-2 poems setting goals for ideal mood , tone, and attitude
Weekly assignments: read a poem and write a metaphor a day
Where you first start working you might be assigned a meaningless task, but after more experience you get used to that. --- Michael Lipsey
