As she is healing him after a mission, she pauses for a moment to kiss his forehead. - Rin
Kakashi is laying on his side, head propped up in one hand, watching the enemy shinobi's opened throat continue to leak blood long after her death. It's starting to congeal. He watches her because there's no one else here to make sure Rin isn't attacked while she's bent over the long wound that curls up his thigh and nearly up to his waistband.
This is the first time he's been stabbed in what might be considered the ass, so he's also not looking at Rin because he's a little embarrassed. Fine, right? Fine. She's very professional about it at least, she didn't even giggle at him when she'd asked where he was hurt and he'd flushed and mumbled that he'd been stabbed in the buttcheek.
It was a little more serious than a stab, anyway. She'd pulled the fabric away from the edges of the wound, cleaned it, and set to stopping the bleeding.
He's wondering if she'd be offended if he pulled out his book while she worked- not to read, really, mostly just to hide his face and pretend he wasn't paying any attention to their surroundings. It's like she can sense when his thoughts turn crude, because she cuts off her chakra and pulls her hands away from him, leans over, and gives him a peck on the forehead. He makes an ugly, startled noise, and stares at her with a single wide, dark eye.
"Um," he says, eloquent as ever. "Are you done?"
you sat down in the same place where you used to sit. / it brought back a memory or two. / I may not know much any more, but I remember you.
