Alex laughed, her mood was definitely contagious. “Hey, those sorts of bracelets are everywhere these days, you’d make a killin’, I think,” he grinned to her.
He nodded a moment later. “Well, the one I was headed to actually boasts a roof garden an’ a small restaurant, so it should be fun, I think,” he offered her his arm with a grin.
"Oh really? Hm~ I guess if I ever quit my day-job, I could try pursue a crafts career on Etsy,” she chuckled back, only half-joking. She knew she could never quit her current profession - she loved it way too much.
“Ooh fancy~ What were ya plannin’ on havin’ for lunch?” she chuckled, taking the crook of his arm politely.
“and you have to accept help from me. because you really have no alternative.” (Hello from a fellow thief muse! ;) )
Well....
It was true that Mari needed help. There were security systems she couldn’t get through to save her life, and this was one. Why Corey shoved the contract at her instead of someone more skilled, she’d never know. Maybe he just wanted her gone without wasting the bullet. She couldn’t be sure. All she knew was that she needed inside that building.
As much as she liked diamonds - especially big ones - she didn’t like breaking into museums.
But there was the way this guy was telling her that she had to do what he was saying. She didn’t like that. She’d just gotten over thinking he was there to arrest her, after all. Knowing what contract she was going after was something she didn’t like. Hearing him tell her that he was just about the only way she could do it? Â
It chafed a bit.
“If I say no?”
saving myself for Mr right
“Don’t get any ideas above your station. I’m literally waiting for Mr right. A kiss doesn't resemble a romantic relationship. It’s like you got to kiss a whole bunch of frogs before you meet your prince charming."

Get a room (askthehiddenthief)
“if you want, maybe we should get a room? You me.. lot of bedding, if you get my drift.” If people thought Jack Harkness was bad , Zara was just as bad as her father. It was obvious she was just like daddy.

“i hate to break it to you, but you’re not supposed to do any strenuous physical activity for the next couple weeks, and if i have to personally make sure you don’t every waking hour of the day then I'm fully prepared to do that.”

Amelia pouted as she sat on the bed, all but nearly glaring at Alex. “Whose side are you on, De’Nuit?” she grumbled unhappily, crossing her arms.
Poor Alex. Amelia was the worst kind of patient--especially when it came to bed rest. She never was one for sitting still, regardless of doctor’s orders or not.
@ask-the-hidden-thief || continued.
The thief winced at the double gunshots, though he held still-the last thing he needed was to get accidentally shot in a crossfire right now-and sure enough, the guard went down with a heavy thud…but there was no mistaking the blood on Atha’s shoulder as well, already seeping through her shirt.
“I’m fine, You’re shot,” he nodded to her words quickly, pulling a bandage out of his pocket and tossing it at her. “Wrap it up. I’ll need two minutes to take over the rest of their systems. Lockin’ guards behind doors they can’ open should buy us some times and spare us some unwelcome encounters,” he smiled faintly.

Atha caught the bandage with her healthy hand, wincing slightly as the movement affected her. But she had had wounds worse than this, she had survived everytime. Without words she tended to it, keeping her eyes open for possible guards. By the time she was finished, so did Alex with his system take over. Atha nodded toward the one corridor they had to get through, no time to waste.
But before they reached the next room, there were a sound of footsteps. Atha halted, listened, calculated. The more time they spent now, the less time they would have later to escape. Higher possibility of the enemy calling for back-up, smaller chance they would all make it out of here alive.
“Leave these guys to me, I can handle them,” she told Alex. “You go on and find her.” It would only make sense if she was the one who stayed, since Alex would be the one breaking the security codes. “Wait five minutes, if I don’t come then take her and run.” There were more footsteps, barked orders. They were not trying to be silent, which meant they were confident, most likely a greater number. Atha tapped the knives she had on her person, an old habit of reassurance. “When you find her, say these words exactly: Atalanta bent down and picked up the first golden apple. Then she would know to trust you.”
