I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but are those top surgery scars I see? Also, if Pickle was the Trollhunter before Jim... does that mean they died? 😭 And if so, how?

you're not imagining it! it's not like, actual scars, but Pickle being trans is sort of up to interpretation? It's mostly there as a little nod to the discord server he was birthed in cause originally I was picturing Pickle as a girl but everyone was using he/him and it stuck!

Yes, Pickle died in place of Kanjigar! Well, not "in place of" since Kanjigar died as well, but he died earlier and Pickle is the pile of rubble in the canal. I've gotten a few asks about his death so I'll answer one of those with the actual version but long story short: he died at the hands of Bular.

Sure! Pickle, Doctor/Dr Pickle Pepper Galadrigal, is my Blinky fankid. Just Blinky, as I personally believe trolls can make kids on their own.

Pickle wasn't made for any particular reason other than Blinky wanting to have a kid. He'd finally settled into Trollmarket and thought he was ready to be a dad. (I do have two other Blinky fankids- one with Kanjigar and one with Arrrrgh- that were made for similar reasons in mind. Hi Arak, hi Hilda)

"Why does he have such a silly name?" Creation wise it's because I was trying to come up with a name for him and the discord server suggested Pickle, and I said 'I'm going to name him after the next comment I see on tiktok' which happened to be by someone named Dr Pepper. Not the Dr Pepper, he's a knock off. So then he was dubbed Dr Pickle Pepper. In universe, in canon, was named by a very drunk Blinky who wasn't expecting Pickle to hatch yet. He was snacking on some human trash and, well. By the time he was sobered up, Pickle had latched onto the name and it was too late to change it.

Pickle is a warrior, though he's never aspired to be the Trollhunter, he never even thought Kanjigar would be felled. He trained alongside Draal though only one of them was doing it to impress their father. Blinky wasn't the biggest fan of the path Pickle was on, but that didnt stop him from being supportive.

When Kanjigar is felled, several years earlier than he should have been, Pickle is only a teenager in Troll years- essentially the mindset/age Jim is. He'd been training since he was old enough to hold a sword, one of Draal's favorite sparring partners because of the challenge it was to get his hands on Pickle. Pickle is small, and fast, and very agile, which means it's a lot harder for bigger trolls to lay a hand on him, but not too hard for him to lay all six on them. He very much assumes that if- if, because he doesn't think it will happen- Kanjigar is felled, Draal will be chosen. Which makes it a shock when he is.

Pickle is the Trollhunter until canon starts, when Jim gets the amulet. I've explained how he dies in an earlier post, and doodled right before it too, so I'll link both of those here (explanation) and here (drawing)
