if i can get a little personal, my mom always did tell me wikipedia was not the free speech and though or it presented itself to be, but i was an idiot and didn't listen. i saw the editings in wikipedia pages and how jewish information was distorted but it wasn't until i read leonard berstein's page that i rlly grasped it. there's no mention of him being jewish. NONE. same with mahler. im a huge classical music fan and to see this represented and distorted like this is disgusting.

even in india the rise in antisemitism is so fucking disgusting and this is a country where there was very little antisemitism as recent as 2022. unfortunately, completely unrelated events are hijacked and made all about how israel is the one responsible for everything bad in the world which is another level of deranged idiocy, but even the barest mention of how some of the most reputed celebrities here are slipping into very casual and very mask off antisemitism here invites absolutely deranged hate.

You think this began or ended with the Holocaust? MENA Jews were violently expelled from all across the Middle East since 1929, though it really took off in the 1950s. My own extended family was tortured by the Junta in the 70s. Iranian Jews fled by the skin of their teeth in the 80s. French Jews have been living under constant threat of bombing, stabbing, and especially as of late, "retributive" rapes since 2014, to the degree many fled the country.

And how dare you call an industrialized effort to exterminate an ethnic group, based on their ancestry, regardless of religious affiliation, "religious persecution"? "Centuries-old tropes created by Europeans" and "real, tangible oppression". I mean...for fuck's sake. Zero acknowledgement of the fact that the Palestinians were active participants in the oppression of Jews alongside those Europeans. Nor that the only reason he thinks of Jews being oppressed as not a "real, tangible" thing, is because they were forced to militarize to fight off those who would attempt to repeat that oppression.
