yesssss I've been thinking about parent!dunk for for days!! the extra layer of desperation for a win and a job because he wants to be able to give his kid a better stable childhood!! and he can't just lose a hand over aerion because what'll happen to his kid if he can't earn money as a kngiht! and does it change how baelor and maekar see him, relate to him, when instead of a just a young hedge knight, he's another single dad?? is maekar, who would do anything for his children, more sympathetic to dunk?? And Egg! whos siblings are frankly all fucked up, getting to hang out with this kid who doesn't have the Targaryen baggage!!

I do believe that Baelor and Maekar would definitely connect more with him based on this fact as well. I head canon Dunk (as much as I can see him being a girl dad) having a son named Arlan or even Arlo and loving him so very much. Dunk literally would not be able to risk losing any limbs because he has a young child, and now a young squire too, that he needs to proved for. Baelor would be intrigued and Maekar jealous of this young hedge knight and his sweet boy.
Egg would finally have a brother that is untouched by madness and he would be obsessed with being a good role model. Dunk is very fond of this.
Now the puppet show could go very differently with how Baby Arlan is dragged to it by EggâŚletâs just say that we saw how protective Dunk was with Tanselle, a stranger, how much more would he be if his baby was around there?
