I’m very certain I explained this in deciphered (correct me if i’m wrong) but y/n’s apartment is her grandparents old apartment before they passed. It’s all paid off, y/n technically owns the apartment. it was originally given to iwa, but iwa did not need it, so he gave it to y/n. that’s why mr. nekomata is her neighbor, she lives in a senior-designated apartment complex. however, all her neighbors know she’s the granddaughter of their old neighbor, plus she lives relatively quiet, so they dont mind at all. however they started getting curious when she started dating oikawa, because he comes in rolling in with his loud ass mazda LMAO plus they’re thinking “the fuck! what is she doing over there with a guy like that!” because she’s studious, very normal-core ambitious girl, suddenly getting with a heavily tatted street racing drug dealing ex yakuza guy LFMSNAAOANAOANOSSO
In the beginning of the fic, y/n was a student but then later after she graduates, she’s a research lab assistant in her professor’s lab, and she goes in twice a week to conduct experiments, etc. she mostly works on documentation tho at home, and in all of her free time, she visits iwa in the hospital. yall just never see that side of y/n because it’s mundane to write and it’s not too relevant in the story at the moment in where i left off lol
