Continuing from my last post, I guess what I want out of Pokemon is more gritty stuff.
Show trainers getting drunk or on drugs with their Pokemon. Or spiraling with their Pokemon trying to stop it.
Show how a Pokemon would react to a domestic violence situation. Imagine a kid's parents fighting and their Pokemon tries their best to comfort them.
I wanna see service Pokemon to people with disabilities. A Growlithe with a vest on would be so cute!
Show a trainer with a disability that is most likely to hinder them from training and how they may overcome it. (I do have a fanfic brewing for this)
Also....I wanna see evolution from the perspective of the Pokemon. We see it from the trainer's perspective, like for example Goh's Scorbunny evolving into Raboot and undergoing a pretty drastic personality change. Where he was once a bright and enthusiastic Pokemon, Raboot is a quiet, brooding pre-teen (at least that is what is meant to be evoked I guess.) Are hormones involved in the process?
Like....what is it like to undergo such drastic changes with your body? You're suddenly taller, sturdier, more powerful, more handsome, more ugly, or whatever. Maybe a Pokemon had arms once, but now it doesn't.
Having your personality change....like Froakie going from a cute bubbly Pokemon and turning into a tall thick-thighed shonen battle drone. AND getting dark type DNA at that.
I WANNA SEE SOME ANGST DANG IT! The artwork I see on Pinterest gives so much depth to the Pokemon world.
I feel the "Pokemon: I Choose You" movie and "The Power of Us" seemed more gritty from what I've seen, but I wanna see things turned up a bit more.
