In fact, most students first focus on what are called the #naturalkeys (A, B, C, D, E, F, G). Also, please note that my sharp/flats are represented by abbreviations. 🎸🎶🖌🎨 2020 is pushing me forward to share the art I've been working on these past five years... This is my first attempt at #blockprinting a study of the Major keys-- all 12 of them! I have more practice to do, lining up the staircases! Can you see the whole steps and half steps? ° ° ° In this picture, the horizontal step surfaces would be the notes played in any given key. The vertical surfaces would be the notes omitted. 🎹🎶 ° ° ° ° ° In a past life, I helped people with cognitive differences and disabilities acquire or retrain functional every day skills. It was my job to take a concept or process, break it up into bite-sized units that would best suit my client's learning style, and practice together until they no longer needed me. 💗 So, when I started making music, I realized that my own brain wanted this personalized teaching method too! My mind's eye wanted to see music as more than traditional notation. I wanted to see each note as a tone of color. I found my color palate through sharing my tone method with children. While I was not born with #synesthesia I now have a a fluent visual language to read and compose music.
