Good morning š In my part of the world holidays are just about to begin, they will last till 8th without interruptions and then a bit more. Why do I say this to you? My Christmas tree has just arrived. Who follows me for a few years knows that each year it was a quest and I wasnāt sure if I got it at all. There were too many orders, companies hadnāt had enough either trees or couriers. This year due to the common mood and significant shortage of clients because many families just moved out the city and the country, our tree arrived as ordered - in time, without rush, and it didnāt look like the last stick from the Christmas warehouse that no one wanted. And it smells amazing like typical Russian fur-tree. Moscow isnāt as festive as before, itās tired. Iām exhausted. And under the snow it feels calmer than before. Slower. Thereās not enough immigrants to clean the streets, which is technically the biggest visible achievement of the western economic sanctions. Strong ruble made it senseless to work here: people couldnāt send much money back to their families at home. But ruble is getting back to the pre-war rates, so I have a feeling that the new waves of immigrants are to be expected in 2023. Economy is getting back on track. As about my moving further we are stuck. My mother had heart surgery last month, we are collecting absolutely senseless documents for second round of consulateās check. The next time Iāll be asked to present a tram ticket my grand granny bought on 15th January 1929, I think. Because why not? Why not to ask it?))). It doesnāt say anything new about her nationality but itāll definitely challenge our will and motivation. I think another political article written by me will challenge it more effectively))). Anywayā¦ back to the resultsā¦ Just like Russian economy, as a surprise to everyone involved, Iāve managed to get through the year without personal default, despite my sonās fatherās āsanctionsā.
