Lazzarini's tabletop sculpture, "brass knuckles (vi)" (2022), conjures the marginality of back-alley brawls and street fights. With their golden, decorative quality and scuffed polish, the knuckles evoke something attractive yet repulsive: an ornamentality that masks America’s brutality and fascination with violence.
