life feels like it's catching fire faster than I can put it out, and I’m doing my best to survive,
however:
Because of Trump’s new tariffs and my local post dropping the only affordable US shipping option, my shop has been crushed. A $50 item would arrive with an extra $50+ fee. totally unjustifiable for almost everyone, and 99% of my audience is American.
so after 11 years of building my little online business, my only income disappeared almost overnight.
I'm a chronically ill immigrant, so I can’t just jump into a new job instantly. I’m applying everywhere, asking for assistance, calling every resource I can find, but even my appointment for emergency support isn't happening until January 12.
I don’t really have anyone here. my brother is unemployed and my parents are trapped in Venezuela.
this lil business helped me:
escape a violent country, survive through COVID without papers when legal stuff was put on hold, escape an abusive relationship, recover from accountant fraud, pay the treatments of two pets with complex illnesses, etc. but each blow has come one after the other, and I'm just... In shock. About everything that keeps happening.

Hello people of the tumblr art world, i have here three wips that I do not know which to work on first, or yknow what to scrap. I’ll have to redo the second one because it is not in my style anymore, but I wanted to hear what looked good to the people of the world. Guys, they are scammers.... please report them and block them IMMEDIATELY!!!!
They first chatted me through my IG and told me that they love my arts.... They commissioned me to paint their pets.... After I did their requests, they asked for the email address I used for my paypal....
The first and second scams, it was my fault I was too trusting and gave them my email instead of using my paypal.me link....
I never received any money.... All I received were emails that paypal is holding on to the money and that I need to send them first some money before receiving any....
For example:
I just finished a commission and I charged the ‘client’ for $300.... So to receive the payment, I gave them my email for my paypal.... Not long after, I get an email stating that paypal is holding on to the money but I can’t have it because my paypal account is not business class... So in order for me to get the payment, the sender (’client’) must pay additional $200 to me which makes it $500.... And then, I must pay that $200 back to them so I can receive the money....
My paypal has nothing in it.... And thankfully, I didn’t panic and worsen the situation....
And it was same situation on the second scam.... The third scam, however, I caught on.... and man, did I finally explode....
At this point, I don’t even care about the money.... I’m just very angry and upset that I wasted precious time and effort all for nothing.... And it was so disheartening cause I just opened a commission.... This isn’t how I envisioned my first commission would be but shit happen because of these scums....
Artists, please share this to warn other artists of these scammers.... So far, I have encountered 4 of them....
