I've been studying @raliciel 's submas works because they're so so tasty!
Just the way Emmet is so harmlessly creepy and the way they use a complete black and white palette and create such excellent mood!!
Looking at their take on the submas I think they're staying really close to the official concept art which is super interesting!

Goddamn, May's challenge is FINALLY over. This one took an embarrassingly long time to complete, no thanks to the setbacks I experienced during May including a painful sciatica flare-up. But I'm glad I got this one done, especially because Obata has been a long-time favorite artist of mine. As I mentioned in my previous post, Obata influenced a lot of my work growing up, so it felt nice to revisit those roots as a more experienced artist.
