I am fully a gay Arthur believer bc that man showed absolutely no interest in women until it was relevant to the plot when he married gwen but before that the people who need him to fall in love with a women gave him love potions to make him? Like why would they do that if they knew that a stunning woman would do it? Especially when people hc Merlin as gay and Arthur as bi when Merlin shows more interest in women from the start?

Thinking about that one time I pulled up a generator for random fanfic ideas, wanting to write some Merthur. The first thing I got was “character A is a prince/princess and character B is their servant” and I just shut my computer and haven’t written Merthur to this day. It’s been like two years.

i love the way arthur teases merlin in s1. imo its such a clear indication that he has some kinda crush on merlin, in a very much “pulling your pigtails” type of way. like, you have merlin, who is very much Annoyed but is Trying Hard to be nice to arthur because of a prophecy told by a goddamn talking dragon, and then there’s arthur being like “dress me in my armor, merlin” or “you always have to be by my side, merlin.” it’s just so funny and cute T-T even when they grow closer, arthur still picks on him but it’s so endearing hhhhhhfjejdjsjdjs
