Murky and Stickys reactions are different from one another

As an adolescent boy Sticky does feel othered from different kids for not only having 2 dads but one is pregnant? Its difficult for him to grasp and he actually ends up spending more time with secret 3rd option parent (Laura lol) It's not that Sticky can really be called homophobic or anything lol but as a 13/14 something year old boy he would be somewhat preoccupied with what other people think and he just doesn't quite understand yet because he's so young.

This creates a rift in the family

However Murky, gets feelings on inadequacy like why isn't she enough? why do they need another child? She doesn't really understand the male pregnancy part or 2 dads either but it is not as important to her as the fact that another child is actually on the way.

Murky also spends more time with Laura because of this

It all snowballs onto Daniil who now with added pregnancy hormones struggles with strong feelings of regret

Daniil is upset and feels that he is solely responsible for creating the rift within his family that he's driven his two already existing children away by embarrassing one and making the other feel unwanted. Not to mention feeling that he has tarnished his husbands name as Menku because instead of marrying and having a child with a woman its another man and that his status within the kin may be changing.

Daniil goes through a deep depression because of this and tries to distract himself with his work

Hes grateful for the chance to resume his thesis instead of defeating death he is interested in creating life

this idea completely turns him around and things start to change for the better
