Two pieces from the Salvador Dalí: The Image Disappears exhibit at @artinstitutechi. Hard to believe, but Dali was a huge inspiration in my teen years (and we'll after honestly) for the artwork I produced. Not necessarily the subjects, but the feeling of his pieces...the compositions...the abandoning of ties to the norm of reality. I never have considered myself a surrealist, but my work always exists outside of contextual constraints. I draw a subject, but prefer to allow the viewer to contextualize a setting or a reason. This isn't purely surrealist, but the idea began for me when I discovered Dalí. And here are two pieces that I absolutely love. There aren't any penises. There's no distortion of objects. They're just simple drawings...that are just beautifully done.
