Okay I want some recommendations. I want to find editing software for art, like wobbly effect, and that effect used in mlp infection au tiktoks that make it look like breathing. Also any good editing software like that is free. I don't make a steady amount of money cleaning horse shelters at the moment.

krita appreciation post. anti ai. you can draw. you can aniimate. the files save really conveniently. it's never crashed on me before. free. open source if im not mistaken. it doesn't break randomly and all the features work as intended (looking at you, opentoonz) and it's got pretty much everything photoshop and animate have without being an ad*be product AND its better AND ITS FREE. did i mention it's free? i love krita its so peak

I think FireAlpaca is lightweight and pretty beginner friendly for artists moving from mobile apps to PC.
I'd say it's great for older PCs. I personally use i5 4th generation, and it runs great. Sad thing is, is that FireAlpaca doesn't have a dark mode. But for me personally, it's not much of a problem, kind of an eyesore sometimes but otherwise alright.
It may feel a little overwhelming switching from mobile to PC software, but it won't be so bad!

Another great option: Magma Studio. It's a website and not an actual software so it's more cloud based.
So guys. I need some (free) art software recommendations for something that could make this. I just need layers and a grid to snap to, vector could potentially be helpful, but it doesn't need to be extravagant. Just something better than mspaint but worse than Photoshop, and free.

Shout out to people who use outdated art software because it's easier to use. I can't figure out Inkscape, meanwhile I can make like 97% of a texture in my* over-a-decade-old copy of Xara (the remaining 3% is done in Paint.NET, which isn't outdated).
*Technically it's my dad's, since he owns the disc, but he let me install it, and the actual .exe on my computer is licensed in my name as part of the install process.
