can anyone tell me if there is any proof that Paul is particularly angry/upset whenever he/Art messes up lyrics/comes in wrong on stage?
I've seen far too many 'joke' posts about it to think it's just a lie but I've also seen enough live performances of theirs by now and watched them mess up on stage
and Paul usually laughs and smiles and shakes his head???
Like... whenever I've seen them mess up on stage it always ends with them seemingly having more fun singing the song than before??? They're grinning and giddy with it???
I was just curious if this has ever been confirmed or if it's just a strangely wildly popular headcanon
no, because Art's parents were genuinely out to get him-
it has officially been the fourth time that I have watched a video of him introducing the band (himself and paul) and instead of hearing 'Arthur Garfunkel' which is his name
I have heard-
"Art The Garfunkel"
...
I mean...
Paul Simon: My lyrics are ambiguous and can be interpreted in many different ways based on the listener, it's a joy to hear covers and see how other people put themselves into my words. It's 50-50 on who it could be about. I will never explain my lyrics. They shall remain timeless that way. I was pretending to be someone else when I wrote that.
Art Garfunkel: That song? Oh yea that's about me. Haha, that line? Yea about me. Yeah, no he doesn't like that part because it makes him think of us. Oh did you know? That's about me. Yes, we were in London when he wrote that. About me.
The completed Paul and Artie artwork!!! Here's the wip of this I posted previously ;)
Been a fan of Simon & Garfunkel songs since over a decade ago... but never really found the chance to engage with this specific community AND get into all the lore until months ago. [hacker voice] I'M IN and loving it
