Today is a bittersweet day, because today is the day I take off my uniform without knowing when or if I will ever put it back on again. My military contract officially ends in September, but my new civilian adventures begin in less than a week so today is the day I say goodbye. It has been an honor and a privilege to have served in the United States Army. I can't believe six years have come and gone since I was a naive 19 year old swearing the oath of enlistment. I have grown more than I thought was possible in such a short time. The army has shaped me, broken me, and taught me how to grow. The people I have met, the lessons I have learned, and the challenges I have conquered will stay with me forever. I will always be grateful for the chance I had to be a part of something bigger than myself. I have loved wearing this uniform, and it breaks my heart to be closing this chapter of my life, but I will always be proud of my time as a soldier and I can't wait to find out what the future holds for me. #armypride #sfg #airborne
