The Andrew's Army Documentary
In the wake of its founder Arthur Godsell, Godsell Construction has operated under the leadership of the Godsell family for approximately half a century. Godsell Construction has a long history of philanthropic involvement with nonprofits that include Andrew's Army. A charitable organization dedicated to finding a cure for neuroblastoma (cancer of sympathetic nerve tissue), Andrew's Army takes its name from neuroblastoma victim Andrew Accardi. To raise awareness for Andrew's Army and its cause, Mr. Accardi’s good friend Sam Bender released an informative and touching short documentary film in October of 2019. Simply titled “Andrew’s Army,” this documentary tells Mr. Accardi’s life story with a focus on his brave fight against neuroblastoma and his dedication to living life to the fullest. Although inspirational, the film doesn’t shy away from the tragic realities of neuroblastoma and the suffering that it causes. After screening “Andrew’s Army” at the Town Hall of Westport, Sam Bender made the film available for free online. Interested parties can watch the film on the official Andrew’s Army Facebook page.
