I'm thinking of him having an origin from a 2010s realistic military shooter akin to Arma 2, Ghost recon 2001 or maybe even the Alien DLC campaign for Arma 3.
I'll flesh out this idea more moving forwards but I'm planning on having Corporal Colt lean towards Farcade but I'm unsure

We are a Star-Sim ARMA 3 unit that provides serious operations as well as a relaxed atmosphere while outside of Main Ops and Trainings. You would fight as clone of the 327th Star Corps against all threats to the Galactic Republic. Our timings allow for both Europeans and Americans to partake with relative ease. Our operations range from squad sized combat to larger scale combined operations.
We provide 3 different types of operations:
-Field Training Exercises (FTX) -Fun Operations -Main Operations
These operations are usually held at 8pm UK time on a Saturday. We also hold trainings to teach the basics and more advanced designations and tactics, so you need no prior experience to join. These trainings are not too serious as long as you listen and learn.
Designations:
-Rifleman -Heavy -Engineer -Medic -Marksman -AT/AA -Ammo Bearer -Aviation
